Speed Rack 2025 Australian Final heads to Sydney

Globally renowned women+ bartending competition Speed Rack is returning to Sydney for the 2025 Australian Final.

Launched in New York in 2011 by industry icons Ivy Mix and Lynnette Marrero (below), Speed Rack was created to celebrate and elevate women and femme-identifying bartenders in an industry long dominated by men. Since then, the competition has grown into an international movement, combining fierce, high-energy bartending battles with advocacy and professional development.

This year, William Grant and Sons Australia is bringing the competition back to Australian shores. Across the country, bartenders have battled it out in state heats across June and July, with the winner and runner-up from each city advancing to Sydney for the national final in October.

In addition to spotlighting talent, Speed Rack Australia is raising funds for breast cancer research, with all ticket proceeds going directly to Tour de Cure to help fund breakthrough breast cancer research projects. To date, this year’s Australian state rounds have already raised over $10,000.

William Grant & Sons Australia Head of Marketing Jonathan Sully said: “Speed Rack has always been about more than making drinks fast; it’s about creating a platform for female bartenders to be seen, celebrated and supported.

“It’s also about giving back – and we’re thrilled that this year’s finals will raise money for such an important cause.”

Finalists from across Australia include Anneliese Grazioli (NT), Bridget Love (WA), Cat Cheeseman (TAS), Flick Eshman (NSW), Kaila Perruzza (WA), Lex Karyee Mak (SA), Kayla Reid (VIC), Mix Marseilles (SA), Sara Behunin (NSW), Tk Hewett (QLD), Kristin Christie (QLD) and Trinity Bird (VIC. )

The finalists will be challenged to make classic cocktails using iconic brands including Monkey Shoulder Whisky, Sailor Jerry Rum, Hendrick’s Gin, Glenfiddich Whisky, Reyka Vodka, Milagro Tequila and De Kuyper Liqueurs.
