Urban Alley Brewery has opened its $7 million flagship brewery and restaurant at Chadstone, The Fashion Capital.
Chadstone, The Fashion Capital (fondly known to locals as “Chaddy”) is the southern hemisphere’s largest retail and lifestyle destination.
The 1200-square-metre, two-storey Urban Alley venue is the largest in the centre’s history, with capacity for 620 guests.
“Urban Alley has always been about creating a place where beer, food and community converge,” said Dean Grant, Co-Founder and CEO of Urban Alley.
“This new venue will allow us to bring our award-winning beers to more people, in a space that reflects our vision for hospitality in Melbourne; welcoming, sophisticated and dynamic.”
The venue builds on Urban Alley’s success at The Social Quarter, where the brand first introduced its craft brewery experience to Chadstone visitors in 2023. The new flagship elevates that concept with two expansive bars, private dining rooms, indoor and outdoor spaces, fireplaces and a sports bar overlooking the Melbourne skyline.
“Every detail of this venue has been carefully considered,” said Linda Sali, General Manager at Urban Alley.
“From the layout to the lighting, to the design of the bars and private spaces. We want every guest to feel the energy of the brewery and enjoy a premium hospitality experience whether they’re here for lunch, dinner, or to catch the latest sporting events.”

Chadstone Centre Manager Daniel Boyle said: “Urban Alley’s new venue elevates Chadstone’s dining and entertainment precinct. Having Melbourne’s largest onsite shopping centre brewery adds a unique and exciting dimension for our visitors, enhancing our reputation as Australia’s leading retail and lifestyle destination.”
Urban Alley’s move into its flagship Chadstone site follows the business evolving from a single Docklands brewery into a multi-venue operator.
