G.H. Mumm, the official Champagne of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, has unveiled its ‘Setting Sail’ Birdcage marquee, a never-before-seen layout for the Maison.

The marquee includes a second level outdoor viewing deck, complete with racecourse telescope and binoculars, while the exclusive dining space has been transformed into the Private Yacht in 2025; and an invitation-only secret cellar, inspired by a captain’s table.

Trailblazing Australian sailor Jessica Watson OAM joined G.H. Mumm as the official ambassador for the 2025 Melbourne Cup Carnival. Watson opened the marquee with an iconic G.H. Mumm ‘Tap Tap’ moment, sending a shower of free-flowing Cordon Rouge champagne high into the sky by tapping the neck of the jeroboam with a sabre.

Guests experienced a striking red exterior with luxury sailing-inspired details; a naturally lit atrium that transformed into a dance floor with live entertainment by DJ Dijok and Rich Penny; a VIP booth area and porthole-themed photo moments.
Upstairs in G.H. Mumm’s Private Yacht, Sydney’s recently hatted Olympus Dining showcased a curated menu combining specially-selected champagnes from the Maison with a vibrant selection of Greek-inspired flavours.
The Melbourne Cup Carnival will once again showcase the very best of racing, fashion, culture, food and wine across
four spectacular race days at Flemington Racecourse – kicking off with Howden Victoria Derby Day on November 1, followed by the Lexus Melbourne Cup, Crown Oaks Day and TAB Champions Stakes Day.
More than 100,000 glasses of Mumm are expected to be enjoyed across the carnival period at Flemington Racecourse.
The Melbourne Cup Carnival is one of Victoria’s largest major events generating more than $500 million in gross economic benefit last year, creating jobs for thousands of Victorians and attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors to the track.
