Australia takes Best Low & No Wine Producer crown at IWSC

For the second year running, Australia’s Edenvale Wines, has been awarded the Low & No Wine Producer Trophy at the 2025 International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC).

The brand collected two golds, three silvers, and eight bronzes at this year’s IWSC— described as “a slam dunk” by judge David Kermode MW.

The IWSC is the industry’s largest and most respected global panel, renowned for its expertise, influence and personal approach. IWSC trophies are awarded to the standout performers across a range of categories spanning grape varieties, spirits, design and packaging.

Edenvale described the win as “an incredible honour” that recognises the notoriously energy-intensive process of removing alcohol from wine and doing so sustainably.

IWSC judge Alex Hunt MW praised the brand for “directly [tackling] the carbon footprint of de-alcoholisation, something no other entrant has addressed head-on”.

The brand’s GoLo heat-pump-powered plant, commissioned in 2024, cuts energy use dramatically while protecting the integrity of the wine.

This focus on responsibility underpins a portfolio that has now grown to 21 alcohol-removed wines, from Australia’s best known winegrowing regions such as the Barossa, Frankland River and Adelaide HIlls, as well as Marlborough in New Zealand and La Manca in Spain.

New releases include a Sauvignon Blanc Fumé with textural lees and subtle oak, a Chardonnay made solely from pressings, and a Sparkling Aperitivo inspired by the classic Italian spritz.
