Following Richard Wilkins and son Christian hosting the launch party for Fever-Tree’s new Lemon, Lime & Bitters, the duo have given their insights on how generational drinks preferences are evolving.
Developed specifically for Australia, Fever-Tree’s new release reimagines a familiar classic with a blend of Sicilian lemons, sun-ripened Mexican limes and Angostura bitters.
As Fever-Tree Australia Head of Marketing Caroline Wood notes, few drinks are as deeply woven into Australian life as Lemon Lime & Bitters, with more than 100 million serves enjoyed each year.
“Today the drink continues to resonate across generations, with younger Australians embracing the classic,” Wood said. “Research shows more than four in 10 Lemon Lime & Bitters drinkers aged 18–34 enjoy the drink at least once a month, highlighting its enduring appeal.
“Now, as more Australians embrace mindful drinking and look for better non-alcoholic choices, Fever-Tree’s release arrives at exactly the right time, offering a premium option that doesn’t compromise on taste.”

Christian Wilkins embodies the new generation of Australians with its focus on moderation. He says his contemporaries are definitely drinking less and quite intentionally.
“It is less about going all in and more about knowing when something is actually worth it,” he said. “If you are going to feel it the next day, it better have been exceptional. Otherwise, people are just opting out and still having a good time.”
At the moment, he said he is keeping things pretty clean and drinking a bit less, “so honestly a really good soda does it for me”.
“Something from the Fever-Tree range with fresh citrus feels elevated without trying too hard,” he said. “It is simple, tastes great, and you still feel like you are having a proper drink rather than just hydrating politely in the corner.
“For me, Fever-Tree’s Lemon, Lime & Bitters is the first time not drinking actually feels like you are still in on the fun. It has the same cues as a proper drink, so you are not doing that thing where everyone else has something interesting and you are stuck with a sparkling water. If anything it is better because you get the ritual without the aftermath.”
As for dad Richard, his drinks preferences are also moderating, while his social circle is drinking more responsibly.
“I used to be a Rusty Nail man back in the day, ” he said. “But now I love a gin and tonic or a Grey Goose with Lemon, Lime & Bitters.”
Fever-Tree Lemon Lime & Bitters is available now at Dan Murphy’s, Woolworths Group and Coles Group, as well as selected retailers and venues across Australia, RRP $9.90 for 4 pack, $49.99 for a case of 24.
