Diageo is closing its Aviation American Gin Visitor Center, just three years after opening the distillery and hospitality site.
The facility, which features a tasting room, cocktail bar and gift shop, opened in September 2022. It also offers educational tours of the distillation process and bottling line, as well as tasting flights and seasonal draft cocktails.
Actor Ryan Reynolds sold Aviation Gin to Diageo in 2020, but remains the face and creative director of the brand.

At the time of the distillery opening, Reynolds said: “We’re thrilled to announce that the Aviation American Gin Distillery is officially open for business in Portland, Oregon and everyone – 21 years and older – is welcome. If a grown-up theme park and a bartender fell in love and produced offspring, it would be this gin factory.”
In a statement to The Spirits Business, Diageo said: “After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close the Aviation American Gin Visitor Center in Portland, Oregon.
“This decision reflects evolving business needs, as we continue to support growth ambitions for our Aviation American Gin brand.
“Aviation American Gin remains an important part of Diageo’s portfolio and we are committed to the brand, our customers and consumers.”
The news comes as Diageo undergoes a restructure under its new CEO Dave Lewis. Job cuts are expected across the business. Ireland’s Department of Enterprise was notified of “proposed collective redundancies” on 22 June, with around 150 jobs at Diageo’s Irish business potentially impacted.
