Archie Rose becomes a Certified B Corporation™

Archie Rose Distilling Co. has become a Certified B Corporation™, joining the global community of businesses recognised for meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

The certification marks a milestone for Archie Rose, which has been producing whiskies and gins inspired by Australian nature at its Sydney distillery since 2014/

B Corp certification is assessed across five key impact areas: governance, workers, community, environment and customers. The process required the business to provide rigorous, evidence-based responses across more than 200 assessment criteria.

Archie Rose founder Will Edwards said: “Becoming a Certified B Corp is a mark of our 12 year journey to create the highest quality Australian spirits using locally grown ingredients, backed by an exceptional team and culture.

“We remain committed to sourcing locally and ethically, to telling the story of the growers and ingredients behind our
spirits, and to looking after our people, our community and the environment. We’re extremely proud to reach this milestone and to share it as we launch Archie Rose into new markets around the world.”

Archie Rose achieved B Corp certification for being independently owned and operated, along with a range of employee initiatives relating to wellbeing and tenure, including: inclusive hiring practices in support of age, gender and cultural diversity; cross-functional training opportunities; study leave; an inclusive bonus scheme; and team social initiatives
that contribute to a strong workplace culture and high staff retention.

In terms of environmental initiatives, Archie Rose was recognised for its recycling and waste water management practices, along with the utilisation of recycled materials in its production, including recycled orange peel used for gin and vodka production, and providing spent grain for cattle feed.

In addition to the B Corp certified principles above, Archie Rose remains committed to a range of other sustainability goals including collaborating with farmers around Australia to grow custom grains and botanicals for its whiskies and gins, and using native stringybark timber as a local alternative to imported Scottish peat for its smoked whisky production.

In 2021, after six years of experimental trials, Archie Rose also completed the transition to sourcing 100% of its whisky malts locally, contributing to biodiversity growth, and water efficiencies via the use of heritage grains.

From late 2026 Archie Rose products will be marked with the B Corp logo, serving as a mark and signifier of the company’s ongoing mission to bring Australian spirits to the world, underpinned by ethically, sustainably and locally sourced native and natural ingredients and its commitment to team and culture.
