Consumers have been urged to buy local this Christmas following the announcement of Australia’s best spirits at the Australian Distilled Spirits Awards winners.
Established in 2015, the Australian Distilled Spirits Awards (ADSA) is the first and only national awards program recognising excellence in Australian distilled spirits and liqueurs.
The winner of the Champion Liqueur Trophy, Mobius Distilling Co, based in Marrickville, NSW, said: “Thank you so much to all the great bars and bottle shops who throw their support behind Australian craft distilleries like ours. Your help in getting more local drops into people’s glasses really is helping us see the quality of offerings out there keep getting better and better.
“And a special thanks to everyone who’s making a point of eating and drinking local this silly season. Looking at the entries to this year’s Australian Distilled Spirits Awards, you’ll be spoiled for choice.”

Moreau Apple Pie Liqueur also won a Gold Medal at the London Spirits Competition earlier this year, while The Thirsty Travellers describes it as “bliss in a glass”.
ADSA Head Judge Sebastian Costello agreed that the standard of Australian spirits was world class.
“Who would have thought only five years ago that we would be able to judge 619 Australian spirits in a world class competition,” he said.
“The industry is looking very bright and the spirits coming out of the distilleries are first class.”
