Archie Rose has unveiled its first range of canned cocktails, providing bar-quality spritz drinks in the convenience of cans.

Made with botanical distillates just like the distiller’s gins and vodkas, these canned creations are the handiwork of Archie Rose’s Creative Drinks Manager Rachelle “Rocky” Hair.

The range includes:

• Gin & Tonic with Lemon & Pepperberry
• Gin Blackberry Spritz with Lemon Myrtle & Juniper
• Vodka & Soda with Native Blood Lime
• Vodka Mango Spritz with Lime & Chilli

“The spritz may seem like something new, but they’ve been around for a long time,” Archie Rose notes. “The origin of the spritz was some wine elongated with a couple of parts of soda water. Perfect for daytime imbibing. Wine became vermouth and vermouth became amari. But there is no reason why you shouldn’t be spritzing your gin, vodka or even whisky.”

Archie Rose Rye Malt Whisky took out Best Whisky at the Australian Distilled Spirits Awards last week.

“Considering we were competing against all other whisky categories, we’re pretty proud of this one,” the distiller said.

“We are also thrilled to be recognised by a program that celebrates the long tradition of distilling in Australia, and the country’s talented new-generation producers —congratulations to all the other winners.”
