Struggling to find a Christmas gift for the person who has everything or left your shopping to the last minute? A bottle of an innovative spirit could hit the spot. Here are three of our current favourites.
Mobius Distilling Co’s Moreau Apple Pie Liqueur is made from apples sourced from the family-owned Bellevue Orchard in Victoria. Each 700ml bottle containing pressed cold juice from 12 apples, all preservative and concentrate-free. Other ingredients included Tongan vanilla and cinnamon. It literally tastes like apple pie in a glass.
The Thirsty Travellers report: “We tried it with ginger ale, which was a refreshing combination. But we feel it really shines when it’s simply served neat as an after-dinner treat. It has a luscious apple flavour and is less cloying than a dessert wine, which appealed to both our palates.”
Moreau Apple Pie Liqueur is priced at $75. Click here to find out more
Stone Pine Rhubarb Gin combines the unique tart flavour and vibrant colour of fresh rhubarb with Stone Pine Distillery’s Dry Gin. The result is a wonderfully natural pink gin that looks and tastes deliciously different. It’s also lower in ABV at 25% 700ml and priced at $70. You’ll find it at Nip of Courage. Drinks Digest also loves Gordon’s Sicilian Lemon Gin, a crisp, refreshing tasting distilled gin with juniper notes and refreshing citrus. It’s best paired with tonic water, ice, a lemon garnish and a plate of olives as an aperitivo.
You can buy a 700ml bottle from all good bottle shops for $49.99.
