Two iconic Australian brands – Coopers and Volley – have teamed up to create a limited edition sneaker. The Coopers XPA Volley will be available through selected venues this week.
“Like Volley, Coopers has a long and proud history making quality products for Australians,” Coopers Marketing and Innovation Director Cam Pearce said.
“Our brands are among the best known and loved in this country, so it made sense for us to join forces to create the ultimate Aussie footwear.”
Coopers Brewery is a six-generation family owned company and Australia’s largest Australian-owned brewery. The Coopers family has been making ales since 1862.
Volley is an Australian sneaker icon and one of the country’s most loved footwear brands, since its legendary beginning as a tennis shoe in 1939. It experienced a stunning revival of fortunes around five years ago when Chinese singer-songwriter and actress Faye Wong was spotted at a Hong Kong airport wearing a pair while in the middle of a very high-profile divorce.
As news.com.au notes: “Almost immediately, sales skyrocketed. Volley’s servers crashed. Suddenly, the quintessential brand was hot property.”
In regard to the Coopers sneaker, Volley Australia Marketing Manager Sam Despotidis said: “When we put the call out to our fans on what collaborations they’d like to see, they asked for Coopers. Our customers value quality and having fun with their mates, which aligns with Coopers XPA drinkers and what they value.
“The Coopers XPA x Volley deuce style sneaker is the ideal footwear for a Sunday session or beers at the pub.”
Coopers and Volley have also designed XPA branded socks and caps.
The limited-edition sneakers are not available for purchase but can be claimed following XPA purchases at participating bottle shops or on-premise locations. Customers who purchase a case of Coopers XPA at selected Bottle-O, Big Bargain and Cellarbrations stores nationally during the promotional period can claim a bonus pair of Coopers XPA Volleys, via the Volley website and while stocks last.
Additionally, for those enjoying a glass of XPA at their local, scratch and win cards will be available at more than 60 participating drinking venues across the country. Prizes including Volley sneakers, socks and caps, plus limited edition XPA enamel pins, again, while stocks last.
