Banks & Solander Distillery has officially launched its latest venture, the Solander Rum Company, at Jacoby’s Tiki Bar.
Solander Rum Company is a boutique family owned and operated distillery based in the back streets of Botany in Sydney’s south.

Members of the distilling industry, bar and bottle shop owners and friends and family gathered at Jacoby’s Tiki Bar in Enmore to celebrate the unveiling of two of its products: Solander Rum Company White, an unaged molasses spirit; and Distillers Strength, an aged rum.
The event included signature cocktails such as Solander’s Pina Colada, featuring Solander Rum Company White, pineapple juice, toasted coconut syrup, bitters and a squeezed lime wedge.

Attendees also enjoyed a taste of their first barrel release and a Pina Colada Gelato from Ciccone & Sons.
As part of its offering, Solander Rum Company is set to release single barrel editions of its rum, with the inaugural barrels sourced from Heaven Hill bourbon .
During the event, distillers Marty Svehla and Sam Stefani, shared insights into the creation of the company and the rum, describing its profile as creamy, buttery vanilla on the nose and a palate of rich caramelised banana brûlée.
White has already taken out silver medals at the 2023 San Francisco Spirits Competition and 2023 European Spirits Challenge.
It has a 43% ABV, while the Distiller’s Strength comes in at 47% and the Cask Strength is 55%. They’re available via the Solander website.
