5 rum cocktails you need to try this summer

One of the hottest lifestyle trends in Australia for summer is taking micro-holidays: short, travel-like moments that rejuvenate the soul without breaking the bank balance. And our favourite way to have one is relaxing with rum cocktails.

Rum cocktails taste like summer. The versatile spirit pairs well with various mixers, allowing for a wide range of tropical-themed, delicious drinks. Rum shines when shaken and stirred with flavours such as mint, lime, coconut, pineapple and ginger.

While sitting at a rooftop bar sipping rum cocktails with a view of the ocean would be a spectacular way to kick back and have a micro-holiday, mixing yourself a drink at home to sip in the afternoon sun is equally refreshing.

We asked Tanduay, the world’s biggest-selling rum brand, for their five favourite rum cocktails and recipes that are guaranteed to make you feel like you’re on a summer holiday.
