Women in Distilling will hold an International Women’s Day event at The Waratah in Darlinghurst on March 8.
The event will celebrate women’s achievements in the emerging Australian craft distilling industry. All are welcome to join the event and meet some of the amazing female pioneers helping to shape the Australian craft distilling industry.
The lunch will feature cocktails inspired by the local craft spirits that have been crafted by some of the women attending.

The Waratah is the hottest new bar in town. Owner and award-winning bartender Evan Stroeve (above, middle) describes the venue as “our love letter to all that makes Australia unique: small and independent producers, local growers, native produce and a diverse and singular landscape”.
Alex Prichard (above, left), the executive chef at Icebergs Dining Room & Bar, has been the consultant on The Waratah’s menu, while the bar’s co-owner is Cynthia Lister (above, right).
The theme for International Women’s Day 2024 is “Inspire Inclusion”.
When we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging, relevance and empowerment.
The Women of Australian Distilling event will be held from 12-3pm at the Waratah with tickets at $160 per person. Ticket price includes a set menu inspired by local producers created by the team at the Waratah, five cocktails and networking opportunities.
The guest speakers include Amanda Lampe, Manager of Corporate Relations – Diageo; Ed Svehla, co-founder and Head Marketer at Banks & Solander Distillery; Silvia Segato, Spirit Blender at Archie Rose Distilling Co; and Vanessa Wilton, Co-Founder and Marketing Director – Manly Spirits Co. Distillery.
The host for the lunch will be Harriet Messenger (pictured main), Marketing & Hospitality Manager at Husk Distillery.
