Wondering how the stars toasted their wins at the 2024 Academy Awards? They paired their Oscars parties with Brad Pitt’s Champagne Fleur de MIRAVAL, Domaine Clarence Dillon wines and Don Julio cocktails.
But it was Diageo that stole the show by organising the Oscars ceremony’s first-ever cocktail moment.
Everyone in the audience at the Academy Awards received a mini bottle of Don Julio, with host Jimmy Kimmel also swigging one on stage.

Kimmel and his Jimmy Kimmel Live sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez then invited the star-studded audience (including Charlize Theron, above) to join the two of them for a shot of Don Julio 1942 tequila.
Rodriguez also presented Best Actor nominee Colman Domingo with a Don Julio margarita during the show.

“Jimmy loves to surprise the audience and pitched us this idea,” Teni Melidonian, chief Oscars officer at AMPAS, told ADWEEK. “Diageo is the perfect partner to help us create this fun, unique moment within a global broadcast, and we couldn’t wait to share it with the audience.”
The toast was the first time an advertiser had been brought into the awards ceremony.
An estimated 19.5 million people watched the 96th Academy Awards ceremony in the United States alone, the biggest number drawn by the telecast in four years.
It was the seventh consecutive year Don Julio tequila has partnered with the Oscars and the Governors Ball, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ official party.
The tequila was also served up a specialty bar experience curated by two of the world’s most renowned cocktail connoisseurs: Charles Joly and Mexico’s 2023 World Class Bartender of the Year Israel Barón.

The A-list cast of cocktails included It’s Showtime featuring Tequila Don Julio Blanco, Round of Applause made with Tequila Don Julio Alma Miel, Written in the Stars with Tequila Don Julio Rosado, and 1942 Encore spotlighting Tequila Don Julio 1942.

Fleur de Miraval was poured at the Oscars for the third year in a row, with its ER3 served exclusively at the Oscars. The Champagne took over from Piper-Heidsieck in 2022.
The wine was served during the awards ceremony at Hollywood’s famous Dolby Theatre as well as at the Governors Ball and other Oscars-related events in LA, New York and London.
Assistant Chef de Cave Alexis Blondel said: “In ER3, we use wine from like 2000 — vintage — and it has this beautiful almond-y creaminess, with this sweet citrus, white strawberry, beautiful fresh fruit,” Blondel explains of the champagne, which sells for $300 a bottle. “It’s extremely delicate, it’s beautiful.”
Domaine Clarence Dillon was the official wine partners of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures for the second year in a row. It produces premier brands including Clarendelle and La Mission Haut-Brion.
