Don Julio Rosado arrives in Australia

A new rosé tequila, Don Julio Rosado, has arrived in Australia for a limited time.

The delicately pink-hued reposado tequila is aged in Ruby Port wine casks from the Douro wine region of Portugal. The result is a tequila with notes of creamy strawberry, ripe raspberry, dried plum, roasted caramel and a touch of rich cocoa, creating a unique and deliciously smooth tequila.

The spirit is best enjoyed on the rocks or mixed into a daytime cocktail.

Tequila Don Julio Australia Senior Brand Manager Iven Breneger said: “We’re incredibly excited to introduce the newest member of the Don Julio family to Australia: Don Julio Rosado.

“A light and deliciously smooth tequila, Rosado is the ideal beverage to enjoy during the day as the temperatures begin to increase. While most people enjoy luxury tequila in the evening, Tequila Don Julio Rosado is an invitation to break the mould and call up your friends to enjoy an unforgettable daytime celebration with a Rosado cocktail in hand.”

The rosado tequila joins the iconic Don Julio 1942 and Ultima Reserva as a limited time addition to the brand’s growing luxury portfolio.

According to IWSR pink tequila’s popularity is on the rise among consumers: “The global tequila category has enjoyed ongoing growth – after volume increases of 17% in 2021, the category is expected to grow at a volume CAGR of 7%, 2021-2026. As brand owners look to differentiate in a crowded marketplace, some are tapping into the enduring popularity of the colour pink, both in drinks and beyond.”

Rosado is available from Dan Murphy’s, BWS, Costco and independent liquor stores from August 1, 2024 with a RRP of $249.
