Whisky Uncovered announces Stauning degustation event

The nuanced flavours of Stauning Whisky will be matched with a modern Korean “snackable” degustation menu at the next Whisky Uncovered event.

Danish distiller Stauning whisky (distributed by The Whisky List) has partnered with Whisky Uncovered and Sydney restaurant Funda to create a 10-course menu and whisky pairing on 21 September.

Since 2015, Stauning has produced grain-to-glass Danish whisky from rye and barley grown a bicycle-ride away from the distillery on the West Coast of Denmark.

Funda Head Chef Chris Kim – previously at Tetsuya’s, Mjolner, Sepia and Urbane – is renowned for his innovative approach to modern Korean cuisine.

He has crafted a bespoke 10-course degustation menu to complement the Stauning whisky selections, which will be served neat and in cocktails.

Each course will be introduced by the chef and a whisky expert, who will guide guests through the tasting journey, sharing the inspiration behind the pairings and the cultural significance of the ingredients and whiskies.

Whisky Uncovered is the brainchild of Matt Whisker (Amex). Established in 2016, it was inspired by his passion for both whisky appreciation and the experiences associated with fine dining degustations.

Tickets are priced $195 per person (inclusive of the full 10-course degustation and whisky and cocktail pairings). Learn more here.
