XXXX delivers beer & ice to Cyclone Alfred victims

Lion has launched a XXXX Can Van that is delivering beer and ice to South-East Queensland residents impacted by Cyclone Alfred.

The XXXX Can Van is stocked with cases of XXXX Gold and bags of ice for people in affected areas until supplies run out.

The brewer hopes the XXXX deliveries will be a “nice surprise” for those who have been impacted by the cyclone and without power for days.

The XXXX Can Van will be hitting the following suburbs:

Brisbane South West

  • Brookfield
  • Oxley
  • Corinda
  • Rocklea

Ipswich area

  • Laidley
  • Bundamba
  • One Mile

Redlands area

  • Capalaba
  • Alexandra Hills
  • Chandler
  • Sheldon

Lion National Field Sales Director Pat Donohue said: “XXXX has always been a great mate of the state, and when times are tough, we’ve been there to help. For over 145 years, XXXX has stood with Queenslanders through thick and thin, from helping those doing it tough, to building makeshift rafts to deliver beer during Queensland Floods.

“Having the XXXX Can Van delivering supplies of XXXX Gold and ice is one way we can show the community we have their backs. We hope people who are helping with the recovery can enjoy a cold one on us over the next few days.”

Residents are encouraged to keep an eye out for the XXXX Can Van and come forward to receive supplies while stocks last.

The offer is only available to people 18+ and the XXXX team are checking IDs.

Lion temporarily closed five of its Queensland breweries and hospitality venues during Cyclone Alfred. Impacted sites included the XXXX Castlemaine Brewery, the Byron Bay Brewery Baronia, and Stone & Wood’s Murwillumbah brewery, Byron Bay brewery and Brisbane hospitality sites.
