World-first pizza-flavoured vodka launches

What expression crosses your face when the words “pizza-flavoured vodka” are mentioned? Does it look something like this …

Well a distillery located on Rhode Island in the United States is hoping to turn your frown upside down with a creation that’s believed to be the first-ever pizza vodka, a spirit that pays homage to a much beloved food in a boozy liquid form.

Crafted using all natural ingredients, ISCO Spirits started with a base of organic wheat, alongside the finest herbs, spices and tomatoes, plus fresh mozzarella cheese.

The mixture was then distilled down into a drinkable spirit – so in essence, you get to enjoy the benefits of pizza, just without the pizza itself.

ISCO reckons the spirit is “notably versatile” and is great to leverage in a broad array of cocktail recipes such as the Italian Stallion Shot (think tequila shot with all Italian ingredients) to Pizza Luges to upscale Caprese Martinis and clarified Hawaiian Milk Punches.

Unfortunately ISCO’s pizza-flavoured vodka isn’t available in Australia at this time, but we’ll let you know if distribution expands outside the US.
