The coveted Best Pinor Noir of Show Trophy at the 2025 Adelaide Hills Wine Show has been awarded to Taylor Made Pinot Noir 2024.
The $28 wine was given a 95-point Gold Medal at the prestigious show, which is widely regarded as one of Australia’s toughest battlegrounds for cool-climate reds.
“Winning at Adelaide Hills is no small feat. It’s a region renowned for exceptional Pinot Noir, judged by experts who
know the variety inside out,” said winemaker Mitchell Taylor.
“Pinot Noir is often seen as an indulgence, reserved for special occasions and high price tags. This trophy proves you can enjoy an outstanding Pinot Noir for under $30.”
Pinot Noir is currently Australia’s fastest-growing red wine (+4.9%), with retail sales valued at $132 million. It is particularly popular among younger wine drinkers, with the highest consumption seen in the 25–44 age group.
The $20–$35 price bracket dominates the category, representing 32.8% of all sales, with Taylor Made Pinot Noir already ranking in the Top 10 nationally within this segment.
“Pinot Noir is the red of the season – fresh, food-friendly, and perfect for summer occasions,” said Coles Liquor Group Business Category Manager – Wine Michael Bornholdt.
“With value mattering more than ever, we’re delighted to have Taylor Made Pinot Noir on shelves for just $28, proving top-quality wine doesn’t need to break the bank.”
The Adelaide Hills Trophy follows the wine’s recent success at the Australian Pinot Noir Challenge 2025, where it also secured a Gold Medal. Alongside the trophy win, Taylor Made has unveiled a refreshed brand look.
Taylor Made Pinot Noir 2024 is available at Liquorland, good wine retailers nationally, and online via the Taylors Wines cellar door at taylorswines.com.au.
Chardonnay turns a hat trick at Adelaide Hills Wine Show
The 2025 Best Wine of Show at the Adelaide Hills Wine Show was Murdoch Hill 2024 Tilbury Chardonnay, making it the third year in a row that Chardonnay has taken the regional show’s top honour, following previous wins by Vella Wines 2020 Harvest Widow Chardonnay in 2024 and Sidewood Estate 2021 Mappinga Chardonnay in 2023.

Murdoch Hill 2024 Tilbury Chardonnay was also deemed 2025 Best White Wine of Show, 2025 Best Chardonnay of Show, and Best Single Vineyard Wine.
Adelaide Hills Wine Show Chair of Judges Erin Larkin said the quality of the Chardonnay classes at the Adelaide Hills Wine Show was outstanding.
“Expectations are high around Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and sparkling, within a region capable of high calibre examples like the Adelaide Hills, however these lofty expectations were all but blown out of the water during the 2025 show,” she said.
“The top six Chardonnays were outstanding, with the Murdoch Hill wine rising to the fore – it was classy in every way; a great Chardonnay with global relevance.”
