The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) is bringing American spirits producers to Australia next month for a trade tour across Sydney and Brisbane,
The tour aims to connect the producers directly with local importers, distributors, bartenders, retailers and media.
Visiting representatives from DISCUS member brands and companies will include BroVo Spirits, Liberty and Plenty Distillery, Middle West, Noble Oak, Old Elk, Proof and Wood Ventures, Traverse City, Virginia Distillery Co.
The tour will kick off in Sydney on 28 July with a trade tasting at Ace Hotel Sydney in Surry Hills, before heading to Brisbane for a second showcase event at Blackbird Bar & Restaurant on 30 July.
Designed as a one-stop tasting event for the Australian drinks trade, attendees will have the opportunity to discover new US releases entering the market, meet producers face-to-face, and gain insight into the trends shaping the American spirits category globally and locally.
Alongside the visiting brands, attendees will also be able to sample established American whiskey and spirits brands already available in Australia, including Ezra Brooks, High West, Jack Daniel’s, Kentucky Owl, Nelson’s Green Brier, Old Forester, Ole Smoky, Penelope, Woodford Reserve and Yellowstone.
The tour comes as Australia’s appetite for premium American spirits continues to grow, particularly within the whiskey category. American whiskey accounted for 45% of all US spirits exports in 2025, while Australia remains one of DISCUS’ key international growth markets for premium spirits.
DISCUS Manager of Export Promotions Joel Matticks said: “Australia has a highly engaged and sophisticated spirits scene, with strong demand for premium American products across both retail and hospitality.
“This tour is about creating meaningful connections between US producers and the Australian trade, whether that’s distributors looking for new portfolio additions, bartenders discovering new products, or retailers wanting to learn more about emerging American brands.”
The tour forms part of DISCUS’ ongoing “Discover US Spirits” campaign, which aims to increase awareness and education around the heritage, quality and versatility of US distilled spirits in international markets, including Australia.
