Good Beer Pub Group adds M Bar to its portfolio

Good Beer Pub Group has added another venue to its growing hospitality portfolio, acquiring M Bar in Sydney CBD.

The purchase of the Thai eatery and bar marks a new chapter for the boutique hospitality group as it expands further into dining.

Good Beer Pub Group currently owns Sydney venues the Keg & Brew in Surry Hills, The Edinburgh Castle Hotel and Hotel Coronation in the city and The Duke of Dural.

Founder and CEO John Azar said: “We saw an opportunity to build on what has already made the venue successful, while bringing our experience in hospitality, food, beverage and guest experience to its next level.

“Our focus has always been on acquiring venues with character and long-term potential, and M Bar is a natural fit with that philosophy.”

The Castlereagh Street venue is popular with both Sydney locals and visitors, and is known for its traditional Thai dishes such as steamed crab fried rice and casserole king prawns with glass noodles.

“We have no intention of making it feel like every other venue; we want it to retain its own personality while benefiting from the operational expertise of the wider group,” Azar said.

“We want to preserve everything that people already enjoy about M Bar while identifying opportunities to enhance the overall experience.

“Over time, we’ll invest in the venue through thoughtful cosmetic improvements, including refreshing furniture, finishes and other presentation elements, while maintaining the character that guests know and love.”
