Marking a decade of partnership, Melbourne Royal and wine glass brand Plumm will host “A Decade of Jimmy Watson’s” event next month.

The evening will be hosted by Chair of Wine Victoria Dan Sims and Plumm Ambassador and sommelier Matt Dunne at Entrecôte, Melbourne, on 14 October 2026.

The exclusive dinner will bring together a showcase of Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy-winning young red wines, spanning
between 2016 through to 2025.

Paired with a curated five-course menu, the evening will offer guests insights into the stories behind the wines and winemakers, while honouring the enduring legacy of ‘The Jimmy’ and the celebrated producers who have defined
the decade.

Guests will have the opportunity to taste an exceptional line-up of award-winning Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy wines, alongside standout selections from Melbourne Royal’s Food & Beverage Awards, including:

Following this milestone celebration, the evaluation of the nation’s best wines culminates on 13 November with the 2026 Melbourne Royal Wine Awards Trophy Presentation Lunch.

Hosted in the spectacular Victoria Pavilion at the Melbourne Showgrounds, this major event will officially unveil the winners across more than 20 distinct trophy categories. Open to exhibitors, trade professionals, and wine enthusiasts, the presentation lunch offers attendees the exclusive privilege of tasting the newly crowned trophy-winning wines from the 2026 Wine Awards program.
