Rooftop bar lovers rejoice, Harper Rooftop Bar at the Kimpton Margot Sydney has reopened for the season and it’s a glorious spot for summer drinks.

As you enter the poolside space, surrounded by skyscrapers, it feels like you’ve been transported to New York City.

The stylish vibe is evident from the moment you enter the Kimpton Margot Sydney. The hotel is housed in a gorgeous, heritage-listed Art Deco building on Pitt and Bathurst Streets that originally opened in 1939 as the headquarters for the Sydney Water Board.

From the moment we walked across the glamorous lobby we knew we were about to experience something special. And, as we stepped out of the lift on the seventh floor, we were dazzled by Sydney’s largest rooftop bar.

Harper Rooftop Bar offers a vibrant mix of DJs, frozen piña coladas, a dedicated daiquiri bar and alfresco-style snacks curated by chef Luke Mangan. Oh, and dogs are welcome! What’s not to like?

The food menu is delicious—highlights include hot honey-drizzled popcorn, natural Sydney Rock Oysters with pineapple mignonette and Cajun prawns with chipotle and pineapple salsa.

The casual bites have been designed to pair with a drinks list of sun-forward wines and cocktails, including piña coladas slushies, frosé, frozen boozy sorbet pops (Pops By Launch) and custom creations from the daiquiri bar.

We tried the Cosmopolitan pops, which would be such a fun, refreshing treat on a hot afternoon. We also sipped delicious lychee Margaritas and Mumm bubbles from NZ’s Marlborough region.

Harper Rooftop Bar is open Wednesday to Friday from 4-11pm and weekends from noon to 11pm.
