19 Crimes launches limited-edition Halloween wine range

19 Crimes is launching a limited edition, glow-in-the-dark wine range and pop-up wine bar in the lead up to Halloween.

The Shady Lady in Fitzroy, Melbourne, will be transformed into the Possessed Wine Bar on October 25 and 26. The bar will feature, exactly as the name suggests; actual possessed items.

Not for the faint-hearted, guests brave enough to enter will be required to sign a waiver, in case they too become possessed. Within the bar, guests can view the possessed items through a curated, immersive, museum-like experience – each item will be displayed in a perspex box with an accompanying plaque detailing their background story.

The Possessed Wine Bar celebrates the launch of the brand’s new limited edition line of wines, including a Shiraz and Hard Chard, with labels that glow-in-the-dark.

19 Crimes wines will be available across the two-day event, along with three specialised cocktails.

There will also be tarot card readers, unnerving decorations and themed DJs adding to the mood, along with ouija boards on every table to ensure the immersive experience creeps into every corner of the bar.

19 Crimes spokesperson Nick Powell said: “With 21% of Australians planning to hold or attend adult Halloween parties, it is case in point that the spooky season is no longer just about trick-or-treating, now more than ever before, adults are embracing the nostalgia and horror themes with their friends instead.

“19 Crimes has long been a rebellious brand, so we’ve welcomed the chance to break the rules and create a bar that truly brings our ethos to life.

“The Possessed Wine Bar has the perfect amount of fright and delight that will keep people coming back for more – and to top it off, cocktails, wine and entertainment.”

To conclude the event on the Saturday, a practising Witch will conduct a ceremonial saging, banishing any lingering spirits and returning The Shady Lady to its usual form.

The Possessed Wine Bar is a walk-in-only event, open from 6pm to 1am on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 October.
