Insiders at a special parliamentary reception for King Charles III and Queen Camilla have shared the list of wines and beers served at the event to X.
Hosted by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the Parliament House Great Hall, the reception was attended by federal and state members of parliament, eminent Australians and representatives from the King’s charities.

And the five wines on the list were all priced at under $40, with one priced at just $18.99! The royal selection included:
- Josef Chromy Sparkling NV RRP: $32.99 Dan Murphys
- Hentley Farm Eden Valley Riesling $28 hentleyfarm.com.au/
- Hentley Farm Barossa Shiraz RRP $36.50 hentleyfarm.com.au/
- Castelli Silver Series Chardonnay RRP $25 www.castelliestate.com.au
- Cape Mentelle Marmaduke Cabernet Sauvignon RRP $18.99 Corkscrew Cellars
Cape Mentelle Chief Winemaker David Moulton told Yahoo Lifestyle it was “really exciting” to have the vineyard’s Cabernet Sauvignon on the wine list.

“We received a picture message of the menu, and it worked its way across the entire business – it brought such a positive energy to the team,” he said. “The door is always open to the King next time he wants to venture out of NSW and visit us here in Margaret River, so long as the door is open to Cape Mentelle to serve our wines in the palace!”
Meanwhile the beers were from Great Northern and Furphy.
The wine and beers were paired with an array of Australian dishes, such as Bundaberg Spanner Crab, Griffith Salted Murray Cod Croquette, WA Black Barley Falafel, and Tasmanian Gravlax Salmon. The desserts included a Caramel Slice from Aussie favourite Messina.
