Busselton welcomes eclectic new wine store & bar

Western Australia’s seaside town of Busselton has welcomed South West Wine Shop, which offers a new neighbourhood bar for wine folk with community at its core.

Part of the larger Busselton Pavilion venue precinct created by Parker Group, Wine Director and Busselton local Cyndal Petty is at the helm of the enoteca.

Petty’s hand-picked selection for South West Wine Shop leans heavily into local wine, with 85% of the range sourced within the South West region and the remaining 15% procured from top Australian and international producers.

Visitors to Busselton Pavilion can choose their own adventure – pick up a rare drop from a small vineyard to enjoy at home, select a bottle to pair with dinner at The Pav or settle in for a glass at the South West Wine Shop bar paired with house anchovy beignets or sliced saucisson with gribiche and pickles.

A highlight of South West Wine Shop is its bespoke wine wall, which features a selection of daily pours displayed in an interactive and highly-visual menu.

Rather than categorising wines by varietal, the venue instead guides customers to find their tipple of choice by style and characteristics: Fizz, Skinsy (skin contact or orange), Pink, Aromatic (white), Mineral (white), Fleshy (white), Bright (red), Juicy (red) or Bold (red).

Petty said: “We are bubbling with wine knowledge and excitement. Think of South West Wine Shop as a friendly hub roaming with sommeliers full of knowledge, who have the time to talk to guests about our wines so we can recommend the best option for each person who comes through the door. We carry everything from easy-drinking pours to funky, small-batch bottles –
you may just find your new go-to wine here with us.”
